I'm João Teixeira,

I'm a senior product and web designer based in Porto.

I started at IKEA in 2009, on the sales floor. I ended up in marketing, then in the graphic team, and spent the better part of a decade making things people walked past such as signage, store campaigns, and banners the height of a building. Print teaches you something screens don't: you get one shot, and the mistake is permanent and eight metres tall.

I moved to digital in 2020 and haven't looked back. Freelance branding, then leading design at a crypto company, now senior product and web design at an agency. Different medium, same job. Decide what matters, build the system, make it hold.

What I actually care about is typography, structure, and whether the thing ships. I'm suspicious of design that looks resolved before anyone has used it. And I build things nobody asked for, like an interactive desk you navigate by picking objects up, mostly to find out if I can.
